Who am I?
I’m Joshua Parker. I use my unique background and passion for language to help academics, businesses, and NGOs convey their message in natural, flawless English or Spanish.
My strength lies in my ability to write elegantly, accurately, and concisely, capturing nuances in the source text by drawing on my extensive experience living, working, and studying in the UK, France, and Mexico, where I am now based.
My meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to standards of quality in the industry have positioned me as the translator of choice for a number of clients across different sectors in the USA, Mexico, and further afield.
My work: How I can serve you
The bulk of my experience is in legal and financial work and, having trained on the U.S.-Mexico border, I am particularly well versed in US and Mexican law. I know my way around a contract and have no problems deciphering complex legal jargon and breaking down syntactically challenging sentences.
A former member of faculty at the local university, I have been actively engaged in academia for a number of years and have enabled countless authors and researchers get published by translating or proofreading their work, delivering succinct, natural-sounding publication-ready manuscripts.
Lastly, I have proudly served as a bridge for organizations, institutions, and NGOs looking to disseminate their work across the world through precise and clear translations. I have helped increase access to climate funds, empowered indigenous peoples, enabled peacebuilding initiatives, and helped get a multimillion dollar project off the ground.
I hold a BA in Translation (UABC, Mexico), an MA in Specialized Translation (legal/financial, UCO, Spain), and a French literary baccalauréat.
I am a certified PRO in the ProZ network for Spanish to English translation.
I am a frequent participant in national and international translation conventions and workshops.

If I take on your translation, it’s because I’m confident I can meet your needs and provide top-quality work. If I feel you’d be better served elsewhere, rest assured I’ll be honest about that and attempt to point you in the right direction.
